STUDIO

Askew

Made by hand. Yours to keep.

About the studio

A studio
slightly off
its foundations.

Studio Askew grew from Oma's studio — built by hand in Tauranga, sitting slightly crooked on its land. She came from the Netherlands in the 1960s with her art and never stopped. Decades of painting. A garden full of colour.

We print both artists' work as professional giclée editions on archival paper and canvas. Each piece is made to last.

The Story

Oma arrived in New Zealand from the Netherlands in the 1960s and planted a studio on her land in Tauranga. She has been painting there ever since — oils, acrylics, texture built up and scraped back. A practice built on patience and repetition.

Her granddaughter grew up watching that work happen. Learned to see slowly. Learned to sit with an unfinished thing. Studio Askew is how that inheritance is shared.

We don't sell prints to fill walls. We sell them because each one holds something worth passing on.

The Process

01

The Original Work

Every print begins with an original painting — oils, acrylics, or mixed media — made in the studio by hand. No digital generation. No shortcuts.

02

Professional Capture

Each original is professionally photographed at high resolution under controlled lighting. Colour profiles are matched to the original before a single print is made.

03

Giclée Printed

Printed by Artist Services by Endemic World on archival paper or canvas. Pigment inks rated for 70+ years. Every print is checked before it leaves.
